Welcome to Glacier Monitoring in Switzerland (GLAMOS)

Glacier Monitoring in Switzerland (GLAMOS) systematically documents and monitors long-term glacier changes in the Swiss Alps. GLAMOS is operated jointly by the ETH Zurich and the Universities of Fribourg and Zurich and is in close contact with the Swiss Commission for Cryosphere observation (SCC). The work is secured by financial support from the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN, MeteoSwiss within the framework of GCOS Switzerland, the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), and is largely supported by the Federal Office of Topography swisstopo.
